Or use Safari’s Window Menu>Activity option – once the Flash video has downloaded Option Double-click on the .flv file and it will be copied to your hard-drive.
Then use Perian from https://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/perian.html to enable QT to view and transcode the movie to an FCP-friendly codec.

FCP 3 did, but apparantly only to Sony FW decks, not to those from other manufacturers.
So to rectify this anomaly from FCP 4 onwards this ‘feature’ has been elininated.

Other software will do so, the one used by most folks here is Apple’s developer application SimpleVideoOut:

But a robust, idiot-proof – so I can use it 🙂 – collaborative muti-access shared project/asset workflow seems absolutely crucial to taking Final Cut Studio forward at this time, given the way the video-edit industry is taking to FCS in droves at the moment – certainly here in the UK.

That would facilitate a proper Undo History, and allow an asset Properties Inspector which could give full access to a freeze frame’s creation history. To cite but two minor possible enhancements.

Maybe once the 3G rework/roll-out of the iPhone is complete, by say 2010, then Apple’s planners will be allowed to make a start on specifying a 20th Anniversary FCS…

Seems to me that a 21st Century databased asset NLE, capable of project multi-user SAN operation, could have Project code that could be expected to do that just fine.

Of couse those of you gurus who’ve sold your souls to a maintaining a 1997 Key-Lost-Its-Grip application’s high profile could be expected to come out fighting for the old ways.

No offence, Its time for a change = codebase rewrite.

Not found that to be the case in the UK, connectors and rated output seem to be the same – for d2 <320GB or Big Disk500GB dual drives, but I haven't used a bigger LaCie than that.

I too use an external fan to keep the aluminium drive-case cool. But I didn't until recently and a Big Disk 500GB from late 2004 is still going strong having spent most of its life uncooled flat on top of a G5 (so maybe the G5 drive cool fans were helping it.)

I bought an old FW400/800 LaCie Big Disk case on eBay – the original pair of 250GB drives had been removed before sale.
I just popped in two 400GB Seagate IDE drives that I had to hand, set them as Master/Slave, and it works perfectly as a (nominally) 800GB drive.

I would guess all recent (post 2004) cases would take an upgrade just fine.

Thank you, I was working towards that in my last post – Zen and the Art of leaving check-boxes unticked… 😉
The clip Anamorphic check-box is ONLY for using clips in a 16:9 sequence. For 4:3 timelines leave it alone!!!!
I’ll use the Distort coordinates you’ve listed. 🙂
