    Hi
With all the FCP-captured clips and exports I have, there is a Timecode track shown under Get Movie Properties, but that isn’t readable in any way. But the Video Track has the Timecode option, at the bottom of the drop-down, which shows the T/c from the original capture, or from the Timeline if its an exported FCP movie.

    Hi
With a clip playing in QuickTime Player Pro, open the Movie Properties info box from the Movie menu, and on the left dropdown select Video Track. Then on the right drop-down the bottom option is Timecode, and shows the clip’s timecode whilst the movie is played.

[peter rooney] “all the problems with … QT VR authoring studio”
    Hi
How are you getting QTVR AS anywhere near QT 7 – mine (v1.0.1) only runs under Classic in QT 6.0.3.
    Have I missed an upgrade?
    Cheers

    Hi
What Paul Otellini, CEO of Intel, actual said was “We’re all about computer architectures, scale and scope…” ie more than one arcitecture.

Is there anywhere any info about dual-boot capability?

It would seem to me that Apple has bought a new CPU to bring to its own Apple-ROM architecture, rather than buying into the IBM-compatibility BIOS syndrome.

    Hi
Is the drive visible in About This Mac>More Info>ATA when you are booted from the CD?
If not switch the Mac off, and check the cables to the drive to make sure something silly hasn’t happened internally. If it is visible in About This Mac then you need to be booted off a DiskWarrior recovery CD, to try to rebuild the directory of the non-mounting drive.

If the failed drive can’t be seen then maybe trying it inside another Mac will get it to come to life.

April 20, 2005 at 4:40 pm in reply to: Changing speed of a clip?

    Hi
I’ve seen it – and it was fatal, in that I never got that sequence to open again, although I was able to save the project by opening it into a new project. Also I could Export the damaged sequence to QuickTime without opening it, so was able to recover the edited work in the sequence, sort of…

I once saw a graphic designer use FCP 4.1.1 and he caused all sort of this and other problems by using ‘Fit to Fill’ for every clip he put onto the timeline – he had no conception of frame rates or the length of a clip…

In the end I got him to create a new dummy sequence and use this to make new exported movies of all his speed-changed clips, then re-import the new 100%-speed clips into his main sequences. Inconvenient as that was it was quicker for him to do all that than for me to teach him how to edit 😉

    Hi
    Quote from Apple’s web site:
“You know the benefits of keeping all your production under one roof. Why not keep all your production tools in one box?”

That’s Apple’s way of saying cross-grade to Digital Performer for a DVD production workflow then?

Or does someone sell a more cost-effective AU plug-in surround mixer?
    Cheers
