>>When I apply a velocity envelope to the 55-second clip and increase it, I don’t get any V shaped notches.
Are you saying any media 55 seconds does not show the V shaped notches when increasing velocity? .. Are you sure you are not decreasing velocity?
If you start a new Vegas project with the 55 second clip as the only media, does the same thing happen?

October 27, 2019 at 11:42 pm in reply to: Vegas- displaying a portion of a larger clip in a smaller project>>I have a 1920 x 1080 video. I want to apply a hitfilm action camera correction to it, anchoring it at >>the corners. Then, I want to only display the middle 1440 x 720 of that image
Then make your project properties 1920 x 1080. Then use Vegas pan/crop to crop the hit film video to 1440 x 720. That should work.

Grazie … This was the part I didn’t get from your suggestion
>>The BAD News you have to import ALL those Bins to do it.
Why can’t you just import the “selected” media when doing a search from Project Media/Import Media ?
And what do you mean by “import ALL those Bins” ? Do you mean folders?

Maybe I don’t understand .. here’s what I’d do.
1. Go to Project Media tab pulldown.
2. Do Import Media
3. Navigate to the main folder for all the media you want to search. This would mean that all the media is organized so that there is a main folder and then sub-folders and so on.
4. Do your search. Example: bell*.mp3 or Explosion*
5. Highlight all the results
6. Click “open” on the Import Media dialogue.
7. This places all the selected items into the Project Media. -

October 11, 2019 at 10:57 pm in reply to: Using Bezier Masking data to stabilize a moving characterIf I understand correctly what you want to do. Here’s my solution.
I tried this with Bezier Masking Track Motion. I could not do it. Track motion does not move the frame, but rather “tracks” an object within the frame so if the subject is packing back and forth within the frame, the motion track will also move back and forth across the frame. To “center” the object, you need to crop into the frame and move that crop back and forth with the subject centered.
You can do this manually. I did it by cropping into the presenter head and shoulders and setting keyframes manually to keep the presenter in the center, then the Picture and Picture will have the presenter centered at all times. If you cannot crop into the presenter, this solution will not work.

I use mostly mts off my Sony NX30 and RX100 .. but also mxf, avi, mp4 (AVCHD) mpg along with png, jpg, and psd. I have
Lately I’ve been using image sequences coming from my Retroscan Universal. No problem.
I tried to find all the codecs I have installed. I thought I had K-Lite but can’t find it as installed? I see K-Lite in the registry but not in my Program Files. I do have Avid LE, FFDSHOW, and MagicYUV installed.
There are some legacy .avi type files that don’t run for me off an old Canon.
So far, I’m good with WIndows 8.1 and VP17.

Yes running Windows 8.1 and I’m running VP17 .. VP16 .. VP15 without issue.

IDC (Instant Dialogue Cleaner) Not a game changer for me.
They did send me a link to a free 7 day trial. They said ” Although Vegas Pro is not officially supported by IDC, we can provide a trial so that you can see if it works (so far one user has had success with Vegas Pro).”
It is a complicated installation. Downloading the software is easy enough and it installs without a problem and you can run it as a Plug-in within VP16 or even VP17. Problem is that the software (which appears to be running fine) does nothing — ZILCH — unless you activate it via the iLok software. I fumbled and went round and round trying to understand it — finally I stumbled my way to success and got things activated using the “cloud” method.
BUT — it did not work well for me. Even audio with light background noise produced heavy artifacts that make the dialogue sound tinty with constant hiccups. The controls ( I agree ) are simple but in my case not effective. My old iZotope dialogue plug-in works far better for me. So. Disappointed.
