Am I missing something about Bezier Masking?
Why can’t I take the data and apply it to PIP to get a stationary presenter?

I have a video of a presenter and he walks back and forth in a 6 foot area as he presents his power point. I would like to tack him on as a PIP on the left side of the current slide and recenter him as he moves around. It seems I can’t anchor the mask while keeping the tracked video in a box.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Jeff

Can you elaborate on your workflow ? What are you using (Mocha, etc..) to track you talent ? Any way for you to post a short clip of your ”travelling” talent ?

    Cheers !

I am using the builtin Bezier Masking whick tracks my subject just fine. Now I want to ‘anchor’ the mask and move the video so my subject stays in one place.

If I understand correctly what you want to do. Here’s my solution.

I tried this with Bezier Masking Track Motion. I could not do it. Track motion does not move the frame, but rather “tracks” an object within the frame so if the subject is packing back and forth within the frame, the motion track will also move back and forth across the frame. To “center” the object, you need to crop into the frame and move that crop back and forth with the subject centered.

You can do this manually. I did it by cropping into the presenter head and shoulders and setting keyframes manually to keep the presenter in the center, then the Picture and Picture will have the presenter centered at all times. If you cannot crop into the presenter, this solution will not work.

    I found the answer!

I downloaded this script Copy Mask to Crop Center.cs from https://github.com/DustVoice/VEGAS-Scripts
and followed the instructions. It makes your moving object anchored on one part of the screen.

    Just what I needed.

    Thanks everyone.
