Mercalli responded. Right now, you can upgrade the Mercalli V4 SAL+ to the Mercalli 4 Suite for Sony Vegas for $79. This gives you both Mercalli 4 plug-ins for Sony Vegas, the CMOSFixr and Mercalli 4 stablizer.

However, there is much controversy from Vegas users about Mercalli 4 plug-ins for Vegas. Some seem to be happy, others are using Mercalli 2 plug-ins with greater success. Most everyone agrees that Mercalli 4 SAL+ works well. Confusing stuff.

I’m running the trial version of the V4 plug-ins .. I see it will take some time to learn.

You should be able to upgrade the Mercalli V4 SAL+ to the Mercalli Suite for Sony Vegas for $79 .. It is still listed on the website. The suite includes the two plug-ins for Vegas.

    Mercalli V4 Suite UPGRADE $79

Let me know if this works?

I e-mailed them about upgrading the SAL Sony Offer .. Let’s see if they answer.

  • Not sure but if this is what is happening — but if it is just on long videos that start out in sync and then drift, there could be a solution within Vegas that has worked for me when transferring sound from 16mm release prints and then syncing the sound to the digitized film.

Find some easily seen/heard sound event near the beginning and line up the tracks on that event (sync things up by hand). Then find something near the end and CTRL-STRETCH the audio so that the event at the end lines up too. After that you’ll have near perfect sync. If the beginning is now out of sync, re-sync the beginning by hand with the use of CTRL-STRETCH at the beginning. This method works for me on track up to 30 minutes long. An hour might be something else if the sound keeps drifting.

    Thanks Steve. I see now.

The RX plug-ins can be fairly subtle and I guess I wasn’t noticing much change when using it inside Vegas.. I wanted to be sure it was fully functional inside Vegas before spending the $99 — I do see it now however. It works as you said. Thanks for your patience.

Seems well worth the $99 to me. Completely amazing how it can clean up stuff that I would have thought was impossible to get at.

I’ve been transferring sound track off old 16mm release prints using an old 16mm projector to an H1 Zoom Recorder. The track was full of “thumping — hummm — and noise” .. Even with my lack of expertise at such things, I was able to clean it up in amazing fashion.

Check it out here. The RX plug-in starts about 1 min into this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3eC15CXjvs&feature=youtu.be

I’m doing all that but not working on my system (Windows 8.1). Here’s what I’m getting when I open an RX plug-in .. No OK button. No Cancel button .. No Preview Button .. in other words, no functionality. Doesn’t work inside Vegas but works fine with Audio Studio 9.0D or Sound Forge 11.299.

That’s interesting. I queried tech support at iZotope and they say that RX Plug-in has not been tested with Vegas Pro 13 and therefore “..certain issues might arise that cause the plugin to loose functionality…”

Where did you install the RX Plugin? Which folder? What OS are you running?

Will the RX Plug-in Pack run inside Sony Vegas Pro 13 ? .. I downloaded the trail version and it “appears” in V13 but it is not fully functional there.

September 18, 2013 at 4:42 pm in reply to: FCP won’t recognize Avid DNxHD codec

Was this issue resoloved. I’m having a similar issue. Working with an FCP editor who says she cannot run my DNxHD files. Can anyone say which versions of MAC OS and FCP will work with the Avid DNxHD codec 2.3.7 ?
