“Over and out are two different things”
exactly! that is what i mean. those are two different things and that is the very reason you cannot have them both at the same time. “over and out” comes from movies that try to simulate military mood. in fact “over” and “out” come from military jargon. during a radio conversation soldiers say at the end of line either “over” which means “i am listening now for your response” or “out” which means “i go away, you can talk but i will not listen”.
so saying “over and out” means that you are performing two opposite things which are just impossible to perform simultaneously.
and i – a foreigner – feel a bit weird explaining that to a native english speaker which i assume by your surname you are.
anyway i thank you again for trying to help in my issue. i didn’t mean to make language classes here and yes that is true that i am a stubborn son of a b… thatloves to have a last word.laugh at me, laugh with me and have a good day

I said I don’t do too much dvd but it doesn’t mean that I am completely new to this area. Anyway sometime we miss the most obvious, so thanks for the tip. I hope someone will say more on that. So far I added extra second and forced i-frame between the end of video and the region end. It helped as I hoped but I am still curious about explanation. -
you never know what happens where, how attack and release will affect your recording. maybe that is stupid but i tried few different tricks and i was never fully satisfied with it. i am not sound engineer, so it may also be lack of knowledge but no matter if it is 3 minute clip or 2 hrs conference – i always level sound manually, so i am sure every second of it sounds exactly the way i want it to sound.

yes that is good too but you have no control on what you want to show, you are limited to next/previous. in my concept you can choose which picture you want next. depands on what one wants. and yes: the number of pictures/chapters is limited.

that is the only way i see it.
first you make a video with your pictures. second – you make a menu and make a dvd project. in dvd you can set what you want. 2 options on start action menu – 1 play the whole thing, 2 – scene selection menu where you can manipulate your pictures. after each picture video goes back to scene selection where you can pick any other photo.
the question is: if you are new to video editing, will you handle creating dvd compilation with interactive menus and submenus?you need sony vegas and dvdarchitect for that. photoshop would probably help but you can do without it as well.

hahaha!!! i didn’t know that. me and my vegas are rather very good friends for years but he (or maybe it is she?) suprises me every day. no more vob2mpeg convertions, lol!!!

both files are mxf 35mbps vbr, 420, pcm audio, same quantization etc
video in smaller file is untouched – the file is rendered without recompression, used sony mxf type, standard settings, main profile with multichannel option but the final file still has two channels.
take a look at what metadata shows from sony xdcam viewer.the file on the left is 900 mb, on the right 570mb but metadata in my opinion shows this shouldn’t occur.
i think i will drop a line to canon. this is really curious.
