i am archiving a lot of dvs right now, i sometime get this too. try to reconnect the camera, switch it off/on. helped for me. this capture utility sucks but as long as it works ot does its job…

no danny, restoring the system won’t work. veg files are your private documents, they are not system files and because of that they are not changed during system restore, so your veg file will not be restored to any previous version

danny, you should have a backup copu – vegas makes one always with your original veg file. unless you ticked this option to off in prefs. other help i can give you is-try looking for autosave projects. my autosaves are here
C:UsersUSERNAMEAppDataLocalSonyVegas ProVERSION NUMBER
theu have names like 00001b60.autosave.veg
the last one you have before this fatal rendering should work. open it, re-save it under your name and that is it. always make a backup, don’t count on the system. -

in project media tab you have a column “media fx” with a number

i had the same problem with the demo. i got rid of the crap. i am very seriously thinking of downgrading to svp 10. this 11 is really pain on my… back.

i ve downgraded to 595. all crashes gone so far. f##k this 6**. I am sorry I had to say that. -
try to use recovery applications. looks like you cannot acces the disc because the system files are damaged. recovery apps like isobuster can acces the data directly and have their own drivers to read the disc. use google to read more about recovering discs.

of course it is not completely gone. the dvd structure is most probably lost. but try to copy as much as you can on your hdd. if those are just scratches you should hopefuly recover most of the video which is located in VOBs. you can get some help from recovery applications but from my experiences it is just a waste of time. recevered data are damaged and unuseful anyway.
if your scratches are canyons… all i can say is – good luck…
