they should stop calling it “pro”. few guys in sony should really wake up. they are loosing the market. too bad because the concept is outstanding. i don’t deal with 3d so i only take sv and photoshop and i am really able to do everything i need. it really is a perfect and the best solution for one man crew type of work. well, it was until the 11 came out from the pandora’s box… 🙂

i’ve heard about sv12. actually i wish it would be only sv1 but with “p” standing for PRO, a real pro. i have a feeling that from some time they only keep changing numbers. after going back to sv10 the only thing that i miss is filtering fxs. apart from that sv10 has all i need and i don’t plan to even take a look at sv12 :)))
all the best guys and… where i live filmmakers say “i wish you break the tape”. but only those older filmmakers say that. i don’t know what younger say. probably “melt your cards”… :)))

i had similar issues with sv11. 30′ project went nice unless you have too many media in bins. crashes and crashes so i get rid of sv11 and came back to 10 as i already mentioned some time ago.
so at this very moment for example when i strike alt+tab i’ll have myself in the middle of a big one: 150 gb of medias, 4 hrs on the timeline. not a single crash!!!

rendering a file for the client’s laptop i would think of codec issues not the bitrate. you never know what your client’s lap is equipped with. will he see the video or only hear the audio… i would go for wmv and/or dvd here. about bitrate? hmmm, always keep it as high as you can for the format you render…

svp 11 is the stinkiest crap ever. you’re fine with it? so far, so good. try to feed it with an hour or two of footage. drop a half of it on your timeline, fiddle with some fxs and the crazy dance will begin.
i left all that shit behind. i came back to 10 x64 and it works perfect.

    hi steve,
i see that a man can always count on you… your answer…
yea, i tried all of that stuff and few more and i see that it has nothing to do with the transparecy but rather it is a way that the format influences rendering in areas with straight lines. it gotta be this. proof? i tried to render to different formats and e.g renderd to mxf doesn’t affect picture at all. but after that i imported the not affeved final file into vegas and re-rendered it to mpg2. the black line has come back

although spectral layers indeed is very good, i woudn’t exagerate with its possibilities so much. this exact problem which we have here deals with removing frequencies. izotope can do it the same way, using visual interface. but you can do it as well in veeery old program called gold wave which is a very good editor for audio. you don’t have wand but you can see the spectral analysis as well. it is called bandpass / bandstop there. the problem is in finding what to stop and what to pass and here comes the spectral layers and izotope… :)))

first cut out parts where there is the ring but no voice, that is the easy part. parts where the ring is mixed with voice – vegas doesn’t deal with that kind of stuff. in izotope you can see the spectrum of your sound, you have to manually cut of the frequencies of the ring. of course some part of human voice claims those frequencies too, so you will either harm your interviewers or will have to leave some traces of the ringing. it must be a compromise. unless the voice is low male one and the ringing is in high frequencies or vice versa but that is probably not the way it is gonna be..

both of you – make a simplest project, take two files, drop them somewhere and output as edl. then open them in notepad and compare. maybe there are some options in fc which make edl useless for sv?
