Are you saying you cannot bring in your footage?

It has been awhile – yet my memory of it is that it just works.

“Log and Capture” or something like that.

And then I also import using that Panasonic App – P2CMS or something like that.

Have you ever got footage out of your HVX200?

I think my old iMac 2011 might be able to do that.

I have not booted it up in over a year – so in the next day or 2 i will boot it up and

see which version of FCPX is in it – i am pretty sure i also have 7to X on that –

or the “other partition” which has FCP 7 on it.

Also, if you have an old mac with an older OSX version, one should be able to

install FCPX 10.0.3 or 10.3 if it cannot run 10.4.

I know a couple of years ago before my HVX-200 went haywire that I could plug the camera in the FW port and ingest into FCPX 10.2.x.

yup!
that is why years ago I partitioned my iMac 2011 hard drive in half so that I could run FCP 7 on Mountain Lion
and move on to the latest and the greatest FCP X on the other partition.

It is no fun managing all the files that have to be on one partition and then the other. I also have CS6 living
along with FCP 7, and find that I don’t launch into Photoshop as much as I want to to fix up some images
for FCP x.

After a long absence from my HVX-200 – I borrowed another HVX-200A and shot an event.

The first problem was, after importing the hour program, which took more than an hour
over FW 800, so glitch happened and the import dis-appeared!

It turns out there is a problem with something in the flow of the FW 800 – either the camera connector
all the way through the FW 800 to thunderbolt converter.

Well, after the second time, I got the files injested.

Do you import from the camera or do you use P2CMS to ingest the files to your hard drive?

At the file level, the video and the audio channels are all separate, yet somehow FCP X import knows how
to combine them all.

Make a small 1 minute clip and try the different methods of import.
