Yup – nobody with experience would arrive to H.264 –
that is a “Distribution format”

One thing i would do is use “OmniDiskSweeper” to sweep the discs
and see if there is is another large folder somewhere.

The OP did that.
The issue is that GB only outputs 44.1 Khz and not 48 Khz.

I have herd it called ‘freezing tracks” in audio DAW.
