  • Help! Need to convert an old FCP Project file from 10.0.x to an XML or 10.4.5

Hello, I know this is a long shot: DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAPPEN TO HAVE A WORKING INSTALL OF FCP 10.0.X OR UP TO 10.3? I need to work with an older Final Cut project file, but I did not know that after 10.3, you cannot access the file even to convert it. My old machine that had 10.0.x installed died, and even if I could find the installers, it probably wont run the new mac OS… If anyone could help, I’d be happy to pay something for your effort! Thank you!

I think my old iMac 2011 might be able to do that.

I have not booted it up in over a year – so in the next day or 2 i will boot it up and

see which version of FCPX is in it – i am pretty sure i also have 7to X on that –

or the “other partition” which has FCP 7 on it.

Also, if you have an old mac with an older OSX version, one should be able to

install FCPX 10.0.3 or 10.3 if it cannot run 10.4.

Hi Patrick, thanks for your reply. Please let me know if you’re able to find anything out! I was trying to get to work on this project quickly, but after calling Apple, I found out my only route is to find someone with the old version still running– Lesson learned: ALWAYS make an XML back-up!! Thanks again, hope to hear back.
