March 15, 2014 at 2:01 pm in reply to: Master File export one frame too long?

    Hi,

we have a similar problem in having exports to ProRes422 that are off by a frame (out of sync). In our case the very first frame is duplicated.

This we experience on sd as well as hd projects and most our projects are edited with native .mxf files but .mov files have produced the same problem sometimes.

We have not been able to pin this down to a particular format or workflow and keep searching.

I will experiment with having a title run along the whole sequence to see if the problem goes away.

And I will come back to you if we make any progress, just in case it helps you too.

    – Motion roundtripping

    – Roles templates

    – workspaces

    – a favorites palette for effects/transitions with drag and drop capability from timeline to the palette

    – better accuracy in play/stop when using native mxf

    – vertical timeline size shortcuts

    – Viewer size shortcuts (would help when working with transforms)

    – single command keyframe removal for selected clip

    – +/- 3db shortcut

X2Pro Audio Convert by MArquis Broadcast. We use it every day for a similar workflow, and it works.

February 27, 2014 at 4:27 pm in reply to: fcp x What happened to the retiming

Retiming has been redesigned in 10.1…for the better imho.

double click on the transition point between two speeds and you will be able to get the source frame selector by clicking on “edit”.

    hope this helps

Why not use F (favorite) ? only one key, no typing of keyword and no extension of your kw list.

You can then display only your favorites and eventually kw them, then unrate them, thus freeing your favorite function for renewed use…

The logging feature in FCPX is hailed by most as one of its best features, with a reason. But it takes a bit to get used to and used efficiently. MAybe a trip down the manual can help too.

January 25, 2014 at 10:03 pm in reply to: Project duplication/ audio doesn’t carry over

Can you be a little bit more specific ? Is this happening with projects originated in a previous version of fcpx ? or 10.1 only ?

I’ve tried to reproduce this with both Duplicate and duplicate as snapshot but everything carried over nicely.

    thanks
