Dilemma regarding sharing FCPX libraries and possibly projects
Hi Guys
When I recently joined a company I’m with (approx 3000 employees) I was told I’d be doing filming/editing and a PROMISE Pegasus2 R6 12TB (6 x 2TB) Thunderbolt 2 RAID System was ordered for a new 27″ iMac. I figured this Raid system would be great as five other Pegasus2’s can be daisy chained to it.
I’ve since been told that they now want me to train another employee how to use FCPX (which I’m happy to do) so that he can also edit short video projects, but he will be using FCPX on his own iMac at the other side of the office. It’s not been made clear yet whether we will have to share editing duties on particular projects, or whether he will have his own project to see through to completion and I’ll have mine.
So, my dilemma is how to get him access to the RAID I have attached to my iMac so he can use library footage I’ve shot for his own editing.
Or is this even feasible (two iMacs reading/writing to the one daisy chained PROMISE Pegasus2 Raid setup)?
Any thoughts really appreciated.
