This since 10.0.9 i believe, with alt-ctrl 1 to 6 to switch Timeline views.

I still wish there was a way to expand/reduce clip heights via shortcut too…

    Hi Oliver,

thank you for this, I had the same problem today and by creating a new user got rid of it.

But out of curiosity, how do you add a search criteria for Visibility ? I couldn’t find it in the list ?

    thanks in advance,

    Patrice

Ah yes, but Nikolas, you – like me – are not in LA or NY or London, therefore you don’t exist. Therefore you can’t be an editor, period. 😉

Funny thing is though, we have 5 FCPX suites here chugging out broadcast programs every day, including multicam, 5.1 and lots of audio post done on ProTools… and this is all for a national network…

and imagine that: I thought I’d been an editor for 33 years…but since I use FCPX daily, it must be a figment of my imagination…

    sad, very sad…

  • Hi,

why not export the project as xml since you have media on both computers ?

We’re dealing with similar issues as it seems EVS is not writing TC in a way that suits FCPX (it worked fine with FCP7).

Transcoding helps with the TC issue but wastes time.

Having said that, since you want to create multiclips and you are using v 10, why not sync using audio? You can set tc for the start of your multiclip (options) and this way you should not be far off your script notes.

    hope this helps

    Hi,

are you getting your files off an EVS server (XT2 or same)?

    Hi,

it must have worked for you before as you say it did but running fcpx with OS X 10.6.8 sounds a bit risky. Did you update anything recently ?

November 20, 2013 at 7:55 pm in reply to: Best method to move clips enmass along a timeline

    Hi,

if you want to extend a clip that’s in the primary, all clips downstream from it (with attached ones) will move downstream accordingly, wether you extend by trim or extend function.

if you want to extend by inserting a clip in the primary, well, just insert it and all clips downstream will move

if however you want to extend by adding a connected clip over some slug in the primary, insert slug with alt-W which by default will give you a 3 second gap. You can then select it and ctrl-D to change its duration. All clips dowstream will move. Connect new shot, trim to length and then trim slug underneath so as to bring back all following clips and close the gap.

in all cases I see no need to lasso and move clips, if I understood right the problem you mention.

    hope this helps
