Ha! I responded to this and then saw the orig post is from 2022!! Very curious how this worked out. — Oh well… here is my response…………………. Tricky situation for sure, but I think you are headed down the right line of thinking. You will probably need to replace more than just the text, like maybe the whole lower 25% of the frame. You might find this easier to match/track. Since it sounds like you are not super versed in Fusion, I would export a still at full res, full color of your clean frame. Open that in photoshop and paint out/remove the top 75% or whatever is needed so that that portion is transparent. Be sure it is a soft edge. Export a 16bit PNG with transparency. Bring that into Resolve. If the camera is locked, then you can just layer the still on a video track above. If moving, you can track and “match move” in Fusion. Lots of tutorials on YT for that. It’s gonna be tricky and probably not work for every shot. Someone has that project! 🙂

This really helped me with this f%^&* gotcha. Thank you so much!! (just clicked on the curves pane and grades were back to to copying). What an easy fix to a huge mind numbing frustrating problem! Thank you!!

if you are in sizing mode the copy process would only copy the sizing, and if you haven’t change sizing it could appear as if nothing happens. (you have to be in color or all mode…).

  • Joseph, how is that Titan working out in your Mac? By “running natively”, do you mean without the EFI mod, or native OSx drivers, or…? What kind of pros/cons have you experienced? I’m thinking about jumping to the Titan as well, but a little concerned that I may be pushing the boundaries of reliability for a studio machine.

    Thanks –

Yeah… that’s what I mean… as most know, Apple’s implementation of h.264 is not the greatest on the market for both performance and quality. I’m hoping that FCPx and Compressor 4 would up their ante. Has anyone had a chance to do side-by-side comparisons with v4 and v3.5 and/or other offerings like MainConcept/AME or x264?

    Thanks,
    Parke

Changing it to 99.9 did not fix the issue, but THEN changing it back to 100… BAM!… all good, all in sync.

    Thank you much!

Yes, everything is 48 KHz, 24 bit. The audio is a LtRt mix.

May 11, 2010 at 8:20 pm in reply to: Create DPX from HDCAM SR

or— what about using AJA’s VTRX. According to the manual I can create a batch list from Final Cut, and batch capture straight to DPX files using this app. Does anyone have experience doing this? Are there any timecode (or other) problems with this route?

    thanks,
    Parke

Thanks to everyone for your responses. We’re still having problems after many of your suggestions, but I’m going to shop for some new media today and try a couple other tricks. I’ll post the solution if I ever arrive at one.
