To answer you all. I had a session today. A music video, with loads of dissolves, but they were keyframed. Let’s just say “With Resolve 8 you can do anything”.

We happen to have an espresso steam thingy at our office. And I happen to have a close friend working as a barista just over the street. If I somehow could hack Resolve to send her an e-mail once I open the Render window…

That’s kind of why, even though we’ve been told “it’s OK to talk about it now”, I keep shush about it. 🙂
But Margus is right. Resolve 8 has all those things we’ve been waiting for since it was released for Mac last year.

    I believe you’re wrong, Margus. 🙂
I remember the news about FCP X, then they told Resolve will be out in June too – this makes June the best month of the year. Unless they start shipping 24 core Mac Pros with a motherboard that can support two or three GTX 580s and a couple of ThunderBolt connectors.

Not as far as I know. But Resolve 8 is in general a performance boost over 7.

I can see the irony. Having clients that pay attention to the branding of a video monitor while anything else in the room can be of cheap IKEA standards.

Hey, wait a little.. that sounds like my office! Except I have the JL Cooper and a Panasonic BT-LH monitor.

The room looks like it’s about the same size as mine, though your room is a lot taller than mine.
I’m not sure there’s an IKEA around, but I guess there’s something similar somewhere around you. I bought a 2m worth of roll up blinds for the one (huge) window in my office. It cost me only $55 and completely shuts the light out. Well spent money, and gave a totally new mood to the room. It feels “professional” when you enter the room.

Now my only problems is arrangement. Where do I put the sofa? Where do I put my work desk? Shall I rather have chairs for the clients and toss the sofa?

    Limited space means limited options.

I would be surprised if they remove XML/EDL import/export. If they don’t have that.. Heck, I’m gonna get it anyway but it will be quite a disappointment.

I don’t think that’s true. Either I’m on drugs, or I have dreamed. Hopefully I’m none of those. I believe I have adjusted some setting which made the rotary knobs more sensitive.
