So, it was never a Mac based PCI Express card? They way they presented it earlier made me think so.. I see they link to a page with “requirements for Windows and Mac OS”, but only Windows is listed when you actually get there..

Jesus guys.. Why not be reasonable and answer something useful or just shut the..

Arnie, as far as I know from requirements I’ve seen, you won’t be able to use the iMac with an ATI GPU. DaVinci requires a GPU with CUDA, which is an nVidia technology.

  • I have the early 2008 myself, currently running GeForce 8800GT and some poor 6GB RAM. I guess I’d have to at least upgrade GPU and RAM. But it’d be very nice to know more about performance on our systems.

We have a rack mountable hardware scope, but it’s from the mid 90’s. I haven’t even thought of using it with Color (and in the future, DaVinci of course). I bet it won’t play well with SDI.

You’d rather do a HW solution instead of Ultrascope ?

Tim, no, I don’t have a PC (that’s almost like swearing in church) in our suite. Nor do I think we’ll ever have one. 🙂

  • I went back to version 6.6.5 of the Decklink drivers. Monitoring works fine now, haven’t tried capturing of 1080 or 720 and monitoring of it to the SD broadcast video monitor via component yet.

The new BMD Decklink HD Extreme which holds connection for HDMI as well as SDI, component/composite should do. I’m happy with mine (without HDMI) except problems with the newest drivers – currently running v6.6.5.. 🙂
