Attach the Camera to a Null, apply the Align to Spline Tag to the Null /
    Animate the Camera independently.

Well, you might like and try the “Vibrate-Expression”…
One can apply this “Tag” to any type of object, even cameras…

In the Object-Manager select the object(s), go to Tags / Cinema 4D Tags / Vibrate…
Adjust the Properties to your needs…

October 16, 2008 at 11:24 pm in reply to: Idiot Newbie question – nothing is animating

Regarding the colours in the Timeline – I guess you’re referring to the default colours:
    Position = red, Scale = green, Rotation = blue…

Maybe you have switched off that little “filmstrip-icon” ?
    Off = dark/light grey, – On = black/yellow
(that will switch the animation on and off)

October 16, 2008 at 9:11 pm in reply to: Import audio to Cinema 4D

First open some project (at least a cube… or else…)
Open the Timeline / File / Add Special Tracks / Sound…
In the Attributes-Manager import your sound…
    Make sure it’s either .aif or .wav / 44100 Hz 16 Bits… (otherwise it won’t show up)…
    Play your sound…
In the viewport check “Play Sound During Animation”…

    Cheers

Well, I guess Cinema is looking for any codecs at startup… ?
Can you access the codecs directly with QuickTime…?
(File / Export / Movie to QuickTime Movie / Options)
Check your “QuickTime Folder” all components should be in there…

And check the Preferences in Cinema 4D / Common / Use QuickTime…
(should have been checked by default…?!?)

    Using Cinema 4D R 11.012 / QuickTime 7.5.5 / OSX 10.4.11

Well, I have amongst others, QuickTime Movie, QuickTime VR, but not AVI…
    I guess you’re are using “Windows” … – but that shouldn’t make any difference…

As far as I know, all codecs that are installed on your system are supported by Cinema 4D.
(to use QuickTime under Windows, make sure that you have the newest version installed)

    October 14, 2008 at 9:10 am in reply to: 1440×1080 16:9

    Well, 1440 x 1080 is “widescreen” or “anamorphic”… presented as 4:3…
I render those settings all the time from Cinema 4D or else…
    (Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) HD 1440 x 1080 16:9 (1888 x 1062)

    If you look at your 1440 x 1080 render-files you’ll see they’re slightly squeezed,
    but later in your Video-Editor stretched out to full 16:9 = 1920 x 1080 pixels…

    Using Cinema 4D R11/ OSX 10.4.11

    Render Settings / Output / Presets (the little triangle) / Film/Video / HDV 1080 25 /
    (1440 x 1080 HDTV 16:9 Anamorphic)

If you have an older version of Cinema you might have to put in those settings manually…
