Activity Forums Maxon Cinema 4D Quicktime output in R11

  • Quicktime output in R11

Posted by Simon Hutchinson on October 15, 2008 at 2:20 pm

I have just upgraded to R11 and there is no longer the option to export an animation as a quicktime movie.

I have quicktime installed and am running a 3DBOXX.

Am I being blind here, or is there some sort of activation I need to go through?

    Thanks in advance.

    Render Settings…
Output / Presets (tick the little triangle)… from the drop-down make your choice…
    Save / Format / drop-down – QuickTime Movie / Options…

The problem is under the format options quicktime is not displayed. The only video option is avi movie.

Is there something else i need to do from a codec point of view to make quicktime appear as an option?

    Using Cinema 4D R 11.012 / QuickTime 7.5.5 / OSX 10.4.11

Well, I have amongst others, QuickTime Movie, QuickTime VR, but not AVI…
    I guess you’re are using “Windows” … – but that shouldn’t make any difference…

As far as I know, all codecs that are installed on your system are supported by Cinema 4D.
(to use QuickTime under Windows, make sure that you have the newest version installed)

Still no joy. Could it be that c4d was installed before quicktime?

or is there some way to ask c4d to look for new codecs?

Well, I guess Cinema is looking for any codecs at startup… ?
Can you access the codecs directly with QuickTime…?
(File / Export / Movie to QuickTime Movie / Options)
Check your “QuickTime Folder” all components should be in there…

And check the Preferences in Cinema 4D / Common / Use QuickTime…
(should have been checked by default…?!?)

    Cheers

The problem was attributed to the order within which the two programs (quicktime and cinema 4d) were installed.

If you have this issue simply uninstall cinema 4d and then re-install.

It will magically make quicktime options appear again.

It may only be an issue to those running x64, like myself.

This is the case when you are running 64bit version.

Simply change to 32bit version and Quicktime will be available.

Hi, I was having the same problem not being able to export to quicktime. How do I change to a 32bit version?

Please explain clearly as I am new to the program.

    Thanks
