You are exactly right. That’s precisely what I’m looking for. I don’t need it in the timeline. I just want it in FCP X so I don’t need to go to another program each time I want to look at a transcript. Putting it in metadata should, hopefully, work!

I always shut down FCP completely before ejecting the drive. I mean, I can’t eject the drive without shutting down FCP. I save the project, close FCP, and then eject the drive. I still am having this problem though. Thoughts?

Argh. I have about 2.5% free, 340 GB on a 12 TB RAID 5 which is itself made out of four 4TB hard drives. Problem is I’m editing a super lage project and I didn’t realize what my space needs would be until I started. Everything seems to run fine. It’s a bit sluggish sometimes, but I might need to keep it like this until I’m farther along in the editing and I know what I can delete.
Are there any dangers, besides slower performance, of such little free space in a RAID 5?

The render files are on the same external drive as the rest of the project. Should I not do that?

Cool. I see what you’re talking about. Last question (I promise!): will it rename my clips? How can I stop it from doing that?

I’m in Resolve 11.1.4 and I’m looking in the advanced render settings for something that says “export individual clips with no handles” but I don’t see anything that says that. Is that the exact wording of the settings? I see where I can render timeline as individual source clips or single clip. Is that what you mean?

It seems to me FCPXporter only does project files and doesn’t do batch exports of clips. Am i right about this?

How did you do that? I have Resolve Lite on my computer but have never used it before.

Jesus christ, it’s gonna take a while to export over 800 clips.
is it possible to change the Cmnd + E button so it tries to export it with the setting I made for timecode rather than the default master setting? I tried doing this and couldnt find a way. It’ll save me time to just hit Cmnd+E rather than going through everything and going to the share menu.
