Do you guys have any thoughts on this as a simple starter tripod?

I want to take my time and wait till I can find really good, high-end used parts for a better one, but I need a tripod for the summer. I like how light this one is. My one concern is that perhaps it’s too light to be as stable as I need.

I’m getting this problem now on a film with a few large stills. I ran rendering just on that section and I got the same error, so I’m wondering if I have your problem. I dont exactly understand what you did for the Y-axis. Can you explain it again?

The text is 100 percent white. It’s subtitled translation of people talking Spanish, and I have it against a relatively porous black matte. The codec of the movie file I made from the sequence is DV/DVCPRO-NTSC, Integer (Little Endian), Timecode. The size is 23 for all text and the font is Lucia Grande. The footage, unfortunately, was not taken by me but was taken by a variety of people in all different formats: flip cameras, an HMC 150, and i think some camera phones. Nevertheless, the text doesn’t seem bold over any of it.

Any ideas you might have would be useful. I really have no idea where to go from here, but it’s a significant problem.

Im trying to keep my tripod costs under 1k, and even under 800 if i can. I also am interested in carbon legs since I’ll be doing a lot of solo shooting and that makes weight important to me. With that in mind, any recs?

I’m trying to use SmoothCam on Avi clips. What is the solution? Should I export these clips as quicktime files, bring this .mov file into the timeline, and apply SmoothCam to that? That seems like the easiest and best answer. But I’m not expert and I wonder if there is an easier way to use SmoothCam on avi clips
