Have you tried syncing it already- normally this is not an issue.

Sure. The next thing up would be the HVX200 which doubles your price but gets you into variable frame rates- like slow motion and high speed and full high definition meaning you’ll be set for many years content delivery wise.

There’s also HDLOG on the Mac side for direct MXF, metadata access but it’s quite expensive IMHO.

I would be a little surprised if the next major release of FCP did not include direct MXF editing and metadata handling.

The included tutorials you get with the install discs go over a simple keying example- start there.

Any DV deck or camera can transfer footage to your computer. If your camera’s firewire port is broken, try getting a very cheap DV camera and using that to move your footage onto your computer instead. The transfer is digital so this will not effect quality.

Get a B if you can afford it- it just builds on the strengths of the A model. Squeeze mode is pretty good for working in 16:9 with decent resolution though of course a native 16:9 camera like the HVX in DV mode would be better.

Definitely- you need a production monitor or someone really good to operate.
