I am a longtime user of FCP and a complete beginner in motion.

i need to key an image shot against a bluescreen onto a new background.

i know how to do this in FCP, but i also need to animate quite a few movements and thought motion was better for the overall effect.

now i’m in motion, i’m not quite sure what to do. i can’t seem to find a chromo filter – nor a tear droper – that will help rid me of my bluescreen. all i can find is the colour key – which so far hasn’t got a tear dropper or a sofening bar. 🙁

is what i want even possible in motion? if so is their a good free tutorial anywhere on the web? i can’t seem to find one.

    help appreciated.

    best wishes

    Catherine

The included tutorials you get with the install discs go over a simple keying example- start there.

DVmatte is what I have found to be an amzing keyer in motion. It will sometimes Key times better than the full Primatte in AE. And it’s fast.
