I posted this in another thread but with no replies, so I’ll try here:

I have a problem with my Firewire my cam won’t work with it, I live in the UK where could I send/take the camera to get a new VTR board, and how much is it going to cost me roughly?

Or is there some hardware I can pick up where I can pop the Mini-DV tape in, and then transfer it to the computer like a dedicated piece of hardware.

Sorry if that didn’t make much sense.

Any DV deck or camera can transfer footage to your computer. If your camera’s firewire port is broken, try getting a very cheap DV camera and using that to move your footage onto your computer instead. The transfer is digital so this will not effect quality.
