I will be shooting a one-woman show in two weeks. I plan on using both the SDX900 and the DVX100 w/Panasonic anamorphic lens. The 900 will follow the talent in a tight shot. The DVX 100 will shoot a basic long shot without too much movement.

I will be shooting in 30P on both cameras.

Can anyone offer any tips how to make sure the footage matches as closely as possible. I know that there is a setting in the SDX900 for DVX100. I will do a test with this setting to see how it looks.

    Thanks in advance.

Totally go the opposite. Otherwise you’ll greatly notice the softness and lack of detail in the wides in comparison to the sharper looking closeups. Shoot the closes with the DVX and the wides with the SDX and you’ll get a much better match.

Should I still use the anamorphic? Sometimes it’s difficult to focus especially if someone s moving around on sage.

Thanks, Noah. Hope you had a good time at NAB.

Definitely- you need a production monitor or someone really good to operate.
