What sometimes helped me in SVP 11 was to disable track buffering under Options > Preferences > Audio Device > remove tick from Enable Track Buffering. I
t is not recommended to disable it, but if it cures your problem, you may need a better audio device such as an M-Audio Firewire 410.

Jason, sorry, no go with the URL.
Sony support are successfully running me around in circles here. The upgrade phone support team are saying I can only do it via the web, and the web team are saying I can only do it over the phone. Arrghhh!

I have been on Vegas 8 and have never received an upgrade invitation, apart from the one that pops up when starting Vegas (Net Notify). I didn’t even get an email, despite registering my interest. The last cheap upgrade was performed using a link posted to this forum for $139.95 around about this time last year. Hopefully someone gets one such invitation and posts it.

Sam, is there a reason why you want to use 24p, which is effectively NTSC? You should be sticking to the PAL/50i templates. In the case of Bluray, you should be using one of the 50i templates, ideally one that matches the frame rate of your source footage. This article may help explain it:

FYI, I live Down Under as well and shoot in HDV/AVCHD and deliver in DVD/Bluray for local customers.

I am not sure what you mean by slave here. If you are referring to being simply able to access your Vegas projects, then you could ‘slave’ the drive to access files on it.
I am with all the other Cow Leaders that Vista is a waste of time. Like John, I started with Vista and actually used it for about 2 months. Lots of crashes later, I bit the bullet and upgraded to Windows 7. Only 1 crash due to USB video card driver, but I knew what it was straight away as I was updating the driver when it happened.
If I were you, I would be seriously considering 64 bit Windows as that is the future of Vegas 12 plugins, and many applications are headed that way.

Lucky you not to have crashes in 11. I was able to recover 100% of the time from the crashes, but it was just annoying when it happened. Some days I could not tweak the Video FX without needing to restart Vegas after every second visit to the event, and on other days, nothing.
