    [Michael Denford] “burn a Hybrid DVD (i.e. 1440 x 1080 footage onto a 4.7GB DVD)”

I am not sure what you mean by Hybrid DVD. DVDA can separately create/burn Blu-rays and DVDs from content prepared using the correct templates from Vegas, but it cannot burn content as Blu-ray on a DVD.

DVDA can also burn to DVD and Blu-ray, but if you want to use multiple burners, then yes, a 3rd party application is required. I use Nero Burning ROM to burn to 3 burners at once.

October 8, 2012 at 12:33 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro Audio Problems

[Marucs Fitzsimons] “I’m trying to edit it in Sony Vegas Pro 10”

    Which version of 10? a,b,c,d or e?

I have experienced first hand instances when Vegas 10 would swap events on the timeline with events related to the media set and nested veg files I was working with (i.e. from the same folder, not from other projects/folders), but I have not heard it doing that with audio tracks alone. This issue remained unresolved with Sony in version 10, as far as I am aware. Since using Vegas 11, I have not had this issue.

[Gilles Gagnon] “it seems odd that no updates have emerged alongside the Vegas Pro evolution.”

    Ummm…if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it? 🙂

[Steve Rhoden] “I think they can make further development for DVD Architect.”

My biggest beef with DVDA is that it still appears to run as a single threaded application. When creating a DVD image or whatever, only 1 core in task manager shows up as being busy, the rest are idle. When you have 4, 8, 12 or 16 cores at your disposal, looming deadlines and only 1 core is busy, it makes you wonder how much quicker things would be if all cores were being utilised.

  • [Marcos Barahona] “Is it maybe an issue that I am running the Sony Vegas 11 32 Bit version on a Windows 7 64bit?”

No. I am running both 32 and 64 bit versions of Sony Vegas Pro 9, 10 and 11 on the same Windows 7 x64 system. I can open all version without problem. The only thing you cannot do is open a veg file created in a later version of Vegas in an earlier version.

Something is not right with your Windows installation. As a start, perhaps you should try creating a new user account in Windows 7 and log in as that user and see if it resolves your issue.

    If not:

Do you run firewall software? What do you use?

Do you run antivirus software? What do you use?

October 5, 2012 at 3:37 am in reply to: Glitchy audio in Vegas 12.0

[Dave Haynie] ” I have some projects from Vegas 11 of similar complexity”

I would suspect the audio device. Increasing the buffer has had a positive but minimal improvement in Chaw-Bin’s case. He does not appear to be using a dedicated or high end audio device.

When I reported similar problems with squirrely sound, John Rofrano suggested I had a deficient sound device (which is the case) 🙂

[Hsu Chaw-Bin] “That doesn’t really help, it kinda makes it worse sadly.”

In that case, reenable track buffering, and on the same Audio Device tab increase the playback buffering (seconds) slider
