As said on topic, after I got Vegas 12, it’s nice, however I encountered a few issues.
Such as, the audio is quite glitchy when there are multiple audio tracks.
So far my project veg file contains 31 audio tracks, the sound jumps constantly when I play it back or scrolling down/up while playing back.
The rendered mp3/wav doesn’t have that problem.
The temporarily way I fix it is go to option and change the audio device and change it back.
    ASIO doesn’t help either.
So yeah, that kinda has been bothering me, especially when I’m making remixes/music.
Also, sometimes I click on play it’ll hang for a few seconds and then play.
The hang I mean it just froze, like, not anything like ‘not responding’, it just simply hangs, I couldn’t press any buttons but when I hover to the medias the yellow outline does react.

    Any idea?

That’s quite a lot of tracks. Does it do it in SVP11 as well?

No, not as much as Vegas 12 does.
And 30+ audio tracks is nothing, my other project involves 100+ tracks and it doesn’t lag that much (and it was in Vegas 10)

What sometimes helped me in SVP 11 was to disable track buffering under Options > Preferences > Audio Device > remove tick from Enable Track Buffering. I

t is not recommended to disable it, but if it cures your problem, you may need a better audio device such as an M-Audio Firewire 410.

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 11 (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

That doesn’t really help, it kinda makes it worse sadly.

In that case, reenable track buffering, and on the same Audio Device tab increase the playback buffering (seconds) slider

I did try that, it helps a little bit, but still constantly jumping after a few seconds.

Hey… I have some projects from Vegas 11 of similar complexity. I’ll give it a try on my system when I get a chance. I never had glitches on 20-30 track projects in Vegas 11. These are audio mix project, all tracks in 96kHz/24-bit on a single 7200rpm SATA drive, mixed down to stereo for monitoring, a few dozen plug-ins active as well.

[Dave Haynie] ” I have some projects from Vegas 11 of similar complexity”

I would suspect the audio device. Increasing the buffer has had a positive but minimal improvement in Chaw-Bin’s case. He does not appear to be using a dedicated or high end audio device.

When I reported similar problems with squirrely sound, John Rofrano suggested I had a deficient sound device (which is the case) 🙂

Could be the sound output device… but that still doesn’t explain any difference between Vegas 11 and Vegas 12. Also, for a mixdown, the stress isn’t really all that much on the card itself. Vegas is fetching all 20 or 30 or whatever tracks from HDD, applying FX, mixing to Stereo, etc… all in INTERNAL buffers, before the sound card is even involved. If he’s doing output to a multichannel device, of course, that’s very different.
