Are you using an earlier version of Mac OS 10.5?
I recommend that you perform all free upgrades to Mac OS X, so that you’ll have Mac OS X 10.5.8 installed on your system. To do so, select the “Software Update…” command under the Apple menu.
If you indeed have an old version of 10.5 installed this should do the trick and get everything working again.
If you are still having troubles after this please contact support@noiseindustries.com

Hi Nelson,
You can of course use your own backgrounds.
You can turn off the background that is created by the plug-in and put the text over your own background or footage etc.

Hi Nelson,
You have a good memory. There indeed was a conflict that was introduced by an FCP update back in 2007, which resulted in a problem with Log and Transfer.
Once the problem was identified (thank you Shane!) the problem was fixed with the immediate release of FxFactory 2.0.1 in November 2007.
Rest assured this problem has been fixed, and fixed for good! 🙂

Niclas

Your system may be affected by a problem with the Apple Software Update process that knocks out FxPlug plug-in functionality in Final Cut Pro. Some users have been able to fix the issue more quickly by downloading and re-installing just one component:
https://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/pluginmanager173.html
It may be worth your time to try reinstalling just the PlugInManager 1.7.3 update and only then, if the FxPlug plug-ins still don’t appear in the host, reinstall the full suite.
