Digital Juice has the new motype plug in. I think it has the FX factory engine. FX factory caused some problems with FCP6 and P2 cards.

Has anyone used motype and is it worth it. The demo movie on the DJ site stops the playing except for sound and I can’t see the tutorial.

I’ve had no problems running Motype with P2 and FCP 6. Go to the Yanobox site to watch the demo.

    Hi Nelson,

You have a good memory. There indeed was a conflict that was introduced by an FCP update back in 2007, which resulted in a problem with Log and Transfer.

Once the problem was identified (thank you Shane!) the problem was fixed with the immediate release of FxFactory 2.0.1 in November 2007.

Rest assured this problem has been fixed, and fixed for good! 🙂

The more I play with the demo, I am not sure I want to get this. I am afraid every guy out there is going to have the same backgrounds, with a 3D flyaround and a single line of text.

The product is great, I just wished it had a few more options.

An I missing an import function somewhere? Can you import backgrounds and other objects?

    Hi Nelson,

You can of course use your own backgrounds.

You can turn off the background that is created by the plug-in and put the text over your own background or footage etc.

I just did this very thing over a motion bkg I made in AE. It’s a quick and easy way to punch up your gfx. And if you dig into all the parameters you can affect, I’m sure you can end up with unique-looking results.
