FCP 6.0.5, on intel Leopard 10.5.7

I’ve trashed prefs, rebooted several times, ran system update and installed everything. Checked the various proapp and application support folders. The plugins seem to be there, but will not appear in my Effects list in FCP. Tried replacing said plugin folders and such with another copy from a different system, file/folder comparisons show they are identicle. I’ve checked the Effects/Effect Availability/All Effects.

If it’s an fx plug, FCP doesn’t want to play with it anymore. Smoothcam, BadTV, etc.

Thoughts? or do I need a bigger hammer….(i.e. re-install time)

Trash prefs, and if that doesn’t work, reinstall FCS.

Is FxFactory still installed? You could try running Disk Warrior on your system drive before doing a reinstall.

Your system may be affected by a problem with the Apple Software Update process that knocks out FxPlug plug-in functionality in Final Cut Pro. Some users have been able to fix the issue more quickly by downloading and re-installing just one component:

    https://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/pluginmanager173.html

It may be worth your time to try reinstalling just the PlugInManager 1.7.3 update and only then, if the FxPlug plug-ins still don’t appear in the host, reinstall the full suite.
