I dl’d FXFactory because I was under the impression that I had the min system reqs, but every time I open FCP it says that I don’t and FCP freezes. Accordingly, I cannot open FXFactory and use the Uninstall feature.

Is there another way to permamently remove FXFactory so I can access my FCP again?

    Hi Nick,

Are you using an earlier version of Mac OS 10.5?

I recommend that you perform all free upgrades to Mac OS X, so that you’ll have Mac OS X 10.5.8 installed on your system. To do so, select the “Software Update…” command under the Apple menu.

If you indeed have an old version of 10.5 installed this should do the trick and get everything working again.

I had the same problem. This ‘free’ plugin was resource heavy and buggy as hello.
Had to power off to close the iMac. Never had to do that before.
Then, deleted that bad boy for good.

    Joel,

As somebody who writes plugins using FxFactory I have to take you up on your comments.

Which free plugin was ‘resource heavy and buggy as hell’?

The Pan and Zoom one. This crashed my computer like no other program has.
I’ve always been able to ‘Force Quit’ a hung program, but this one had to be powered down.
Upon trying it further more problems. Best solution was to uninstall it.
I don’t know what you mean by ‘take me up’ by the way.

By “Take me up” I meant get further information as all of the developers & partners who use FxFactory are keen to know any reported problems with products.

Can you tell me what happened and what system you were running?

    Peter
