do you need those plural eyes files?

once it’s done it;s job, i get rid of them.
thats an option when you close the pluraleyes project.

as an aside, i find that PLurleyes messes with my clips, and they can lose their master / affiliate relationship.
so once i;ve got a properly synced sequence, (after i check and fix what come back from pluraleyes)
i actually replace every clip with a fresh instance.
i use a quickkeys macro to help with that.

in FCP it’s very easy to get precise results, within the Motion Tab of the clip

my method is to line it up fairly accurately manually, using the wireframe in the canvas,
then go into the motion tab, look at the numbers and figure out what they actually need to be.

in these instance, i generally use the simple Colour Corrector, (not the 3-way)
as it has a Hue wheel, which is good for spinning one colour into another.

as mentioned above you use the Limit Range function, which is sort of hidden.

you would be better off downloading the fee Resolve Lite grading software ad using that.

it does not relate to HD

copy the file,
open it in Cinema Tools, and Conform it to the new frame rate. It’s instantaneous.
the audio will be pitched slightly. maybe not enough to worry about.

but you might not have to do that. Talk to them.

most likely it is the TC track issue.

if the file has no TC track, then FCP wont delete media from it: it believes it might be a unique asset, as in , not from Tape, or Card.

putting it simply: does the file have a reel#?
if not give it one, then MM will do it’s job

are you converting your media to Pro Res before you do this?
h264 might be slowing you down

you mean in the quicktime file?

open it in Quicktime player7, park on the frame you like,
and save.

the file should now have that frame as it’s icon

Sounds like you have the viewer set to image & wireframe
(Can you see the wireframe?)
Set it back to just Image in the dropdown menu top of viewer,
Or hit th W key to toggle thru the wireframe options

The thing with h264 in fcp is that sometimes it does work, sometimes it doesn’t,
So it wouldn’t hurt to try doing the simple approach first

Use a copy of your sequence in a seperate project.

If that doesn’t work, and if you used log and transfer when you originally transcoded,
You should be able to create a trimmed offline sequence via the media manager,
And only re-transcode what you need.

FCP 7 working on Yosimite for me, too.

you wil need your installers. Migration is problematic, I’ve read here.
