i’ve found key-framing the colour corrector to be a real pain.
especially when it comes to moving the keyframes.

i much prefer to blade the clip into two (or more) parts,
then apply separate CCs to each, and add a dissolve between them.

i got this to work a while back for a music-heavy show.
the original files were all neatly named Kick, Snare, etc

i *think* the process went something like this:

copy the sequence into a new project,
delete all video.
select the sequence in the browser and go to Tools > Create Master clips

you’ll get a new bin with all the audio clips.

select all of them and go to: Modify > “Change clip name to match file name”.

as they are master clips, the sequences version will also revert to the File name,
then you can make your OMFs

i sort of remember that Media Manager might have been part of it too.
with Audio files you should be able to use the “Create Offline” mode in Media Manager.
anything without a reel# will appear in the Media Managed sequence.

this should be working.
copying media can sometimes be a better way than the Media Manager,
as it just dumps ALL the copied media into one new folder.

what can work is if you duplicate the folder structure of the original drive on the new one,
AND name the drives with the same name.

so if you had DRIVE01 > FCP Documents > Capture Scratch > My Project on one drive,
use the same structure on the new one, if possible.

but if it’s not working and you still have the original media, then using Media Manager might be simpler.

Title Exchange Pro from Spherico FIlmtools is one tool for getting your FCP titles into DVDSP.

there are a couple of subtitling / transcription apps that can also generate the appropriate STL files for DVDSP.

have a look at InqScribe, SubBits is another.
im pretty sure there’s a Cow Article on some of the subtitling apps out there.
you’ll find it if you google it, i’m sure.

the benefit of a dedicated app for subtitled a FINISHED show is it has specific tools for EDITING
(say when you realise you want to split a line over two subtitles)
and also the big issue of SPELL-CHECKING.

Spherico also make an app for spell checking. you get it when you buy Title Exchange Pro (or maybe it’s free anyway?)
i have used it and found it great for finding small things like double spaces,
but i did find it easier to open the STL file into word or other for spell checking.

personaly, i’d rather use a mixdown as i edit.
if i really need more separation, i’ll bring in the multitrack audio for specific clips.

there IS a way to do what you want,
it needs to be part of your planning and post workflow from early on, though,
but i think that’ll work for you.

you export an XML file of the SEQUENCE/

then when you open that into a text editor,
you do a find and replace ALL.

this will change all “font A” to “font B”
or “size X” to “size Y”

after you save the text file, change the extension back to .xml,
so it imports into FCP correctly.

there are many functions in FCP that require the mouse,
and while there are ways to do almost all of them with keyboard commands only, that is actually a slower way of working.

however, a couple of tips:

anything that is in a menu can have a shortcut assigned to it,
and may already have one.

if you find yourself going to the menu for anything more than a few times a day,
DONT use the menu.
if it has a shortcut, see what it is, then use that.
after you’ve done that a few times you will have learnt the shortcut.

if it doesn’t have a shortcut, give it one.

i have heaps of shortcuts that live programmed,
but for the most part, i don’t re-assign the FCP ones.
that just makes life difficult, IMO.

it’s really very simple.

put the clips in a timeline, apply the filter to all clips,
copy / paste the clips back to a new bin in the browser,
batch export as QuickTime movies
they will all have the filter, and the new clips will have the same name reel# and TC as the originals.

i see, but the frame rate doesn’t change.
FCP wont allow it.
doesn’t matter what you ask for, it always comes back with your original frame rate

anyway the OP doesn’t seem to care about the frame rate any more.

if he does i’d still probably suggest go with copy paste. then adjust for frame slippage.
or just start from scratch and send it all though puraleyes again overnight.
