  • Don’t understand your question. I’m working with a series with rigging photoshop characters/animals out of stills. Look at the tutorial on animating a walk cycle, but don’t look at it for the walk cycle, look at it for the RIGGING/animation aspect.

“getting that hot new 2D animated look for video footage”?????????

can we compare it to anything? its ENTIRELY to open ended of a question.
also, look into MOHO — i haven’t had the time to really work with it, but some examples are AMAZING

  • …c4d base/advanced render/tgp and proanimator 4 — these programs with AE can quickly and efficiently create NICE text animation….

Proanimator allows you to hammer out animation quick right in AE.
Cinema allows you to take it a step further with photorealistic renders if need be.
You must remember though, that a lot of post houses aren’t using c4d yet. Or atleast thats what I’ve been noticing — in my neck of the woods (philadelphia area) they’re all about lightwave/maya.

you could divide it into peices with 3d stroke — but it definately would not look very flat.
Or even some clever bezier warping…

stongly recommend using a 3d application. it’ll take less time and look better.

    Problem kind of solved…

export out of Toast 7 (who would have thought?) to an MPGEG4 to compressor to the Meridian .mov….

  • maybe put in a light where you’d want the text to sit in cinema (dump the brightness) and just use that as a ‘reference point’ for the text in the ae project….

  • syntheye has a direct ae 2d track output
