For some reason .avi files do not come up as supported files and I’m unable to import them into an After Effects project. I read the help file stating that it requires Quicktime 5.0 and I just installed Quicktime 7 Pro and I’m able to import other filetypes requiring quicktime. Any thoughts and help would be greatly appreciated.

    Jeff,
See if a divx codec works:

    https://www.divx.com/divx/mac/download/

    or

    https://www.3ivx.com/download/macos.html

(I haven’t done the testing to compare the two, so who knows which is better; maybe someone can chime in about this … )

If divx doesn’t work, chances are you’ve got a windows-only codec. There aren’t many of these.

    I hope this helps …
