Am following training off of Lynda.com and in one of the chapters the instructor demonstrates how to utilize motion blur, but I see the version of Mocha he’s using for the course is more recent than mine.

Thanks for the all of the suggestions!
Personally, I think whoever wants to keep the “noise” in is wacky, but whatever the client wants.

Just to ask right off the bat, have you made sure you have the audio checkbox checked in your export settings when you send it to the render queue?

If you were to do it in post, I would probably suggest throwing up a green screen on the other side of the door. Properly lit, you could key it out, replace it with white and apply an adjustment layer with glow and maybe radial fast blur on it to get the effect you want.
At least combine that with some practical lighting on the actor’s face as the door opens though. When all’s said and done, using lighting to get this done will probably be easier.

Hey Walt
Nope, nothing but white screen when he views it in QT player. Not sure if he’s tried reinstalling the codec yet. Going to suggest it to him.

If have FCP7 but do not have a Kona, or any capture card for that matter, then can you still capture video using ProRes Proxy?
Having the same problem, but don’t have a capture card, and the only options available to me in the L&T Preferences pane are Native, ProRes and ProRes(HQ). This is only for REDCODE (which I’m trying to transcode to ProRes Proxy codec), but the ProRes LT and Proxy options are available below the REDCODE settings for AVCHD.
What gives?

Now, I’ve only been told recently that I should be exporting image sequences instead of using the render queue or exporting to movie straight out of AE, but I haven’t been having much luck with it.
AE makes the image sequence fine enough, but Compressor can’t seem to use the animation or PNG codec to make a lossless video file to pass back to the client, which they then import into their NLE of choice. Made a ProRes .mov just fine, and that may have to do, but am I missing something?

Yep, turned off multiprocessing and tried again…nothing. And I’ve never had OpenGL enabled, advice taken from a good friend of mine who told me to just disable it and never look back to save myself a series of headaches.

I just tried switching the comp resolution from Full to Half and it seems to be exporting fine now.
Does this mean that I just don’t have enough RAM?
But even when it would stop, trying to pick it up just from the point the error occurred at didn’t work. If the prior frames were already exported, then they shouldn’t be occupying the image cache anymore, should they?Cinematographer / Editor

Thanks, Walt.
Is there a way to achieve this with CC Particle World?
Or are my days of seeing how far I can take Particle World before having to purchase Particular up?Cinematographer / Editor
