    Hey all

Me and my friend here are trying to find a solution to our compatibility problem.

Both are using AE on laptops, need to be able to take in footage that is captured live via FW through FCP. These clips get sent to us on the fly and we work with them in AE. My recently purchased laptop with AE CS5 takes the .mov DVCPROHD clips made from FCP no problem. My friend’s laptop, however, has some trouble. He’s running CS3, an early version which we know doesn’t take P2 footage natively, but we’re working with unpacked clips from FCP.

He’s downloaded all the necessary drivers, the DVCPROHD codec, but the footage does not import properly (the best we get is a white screen where our footage should be).

Is the codec installed correctly? Can he view the footage in Quicktime Player?

    Hey Walt

Nope, nothing but white screen when he views it in QT player. Not sure if he’s tried reinstalling the codec yet. Going to suggest it to him.
    Thanks.
