This is all good to know and means I need to do some research to get the firewire drive to act as a boot drive.

But it does not explain or help me decipher the original problem with the internal Snow Leopard boot drive. That had been working great until yesterday, when the machine refused to boot from it.

If you hold down the option key when powering up, the Mac sees it, just wont boot from it.

Workflows, Prorez, Alexa with an ethernet connection.. It is a good thing I am a poor boy or I would be playing with one now..

Steve, I did not partition the drive. It is a 500gb IDE drive that I installed in the spare optical bay.

I did run disk warrior and the firewire drive is extended-formated. not journaled.

I have esata 2.5 inch and firewire 2.5″ hard drives for my MacBook Pro. I prefer the Firewire. When I use two Macally 2.5″ drives in a mirrored raid (rubber-banded together with a metal spacer between them) it leaves the PCMIA Express slot open for my P2 Adaptec adapter to download P2 cards. I use the esata express card with two esata drives also. Same performance for both set-ups and both self powered.

The Macally enclosures are $39 each and a 500gb 2.5″ esata is $79.

It is a green screen right. Just have your talent walk in place. Pick up her feet and put them down but stay in one place… You move her down the path with key frames in the edit.. It is a green screen right.

Hey guys,

I did the research, didn’t want to…. but yep I have Raylight 720p24n playing on any Intel Mac.

The trick is to make sure Raylight places its proxy Quicktime MXF wrap in the same folder as the MXF files. Then transfer the folder.

The files will play on any intel Quicktime Pro enabled Mac that has six DVCpro files in the Library>Quicktime folder. Normally Final Cut Pro will place these DVCpro component files in the Quicktime folder. To make the files play on a non FCP system just grab the the DVCpro files from your FCP Mac and add them to the non FCP Mac. Works great on intel… Still doing the math on Power PC.

It is that CMOS chip in the 300.. If you are shooting all the time in a controlled situation than get the new camera and 5 year warranty. But I shoot everywhere, with and with out my lights so I got the 500 and I am looking for another.

Yes I am using the same graphics in the timeline that were ‘none’. I went to properties and changed the settings to lower on the graphics and kept them in the time line. Do I need to export the none graphics as ‘lower’ and re-import them. That would be a bitch considering all the ‘none’ Boris 3d I have in the spot.

I never had this problem with betacam sp.

Is there a special setting when importing P2-30P. It shows up in the properties tab as 29.97-lower. Which should be what I want. Me thinks that the 30p is really 30psf – progressive segmented frames and that might be the problem… my best guess so far…..

Does anybody else have problems playing DVCpro50 out there Kona Lhi card?

This work is be to exported to betacam sp NTSC for local cable playback.

I changed the settings on the graphics to lower (from none) and it did not eliminate the problem as viewed on my 19″ Sony PVM.

P2-30P imported at 29.97 according to the properties tag.

Thanks for the Flutter filter reminder. But that solution is only a cure for for the 8 bit timeline transcode and edit.

There has to be an easier way.. ( Just give me my old Sony Betacam and Cinewave.)
