I have freelanced for OSU’s 3 camera Medical web stream they do every Friday. Studio, control room, everything Betacam SP grade fed into a PC based web stream… And they have a whole department of web gurus to make it work… So it has been the web part that is difficult..

Did you use Akami? Do they have a how too booklet on using and setting up their services?

Did you use a laptop or desktop for your show…

Do the monitors have enough guts to use on the road. I am looking for something larger than my 15MBP screen to carry on location. And this monitor has VGA, HDMI, and component inputs. composite inputs. But for road duty they need some ‘butt’ to them.

With all the inputs, is there a better 24′ in this price range….

Mark, I have read about Wirecast… How good is it?

The 4 cameras you switched between, were the camera previews live?

Did it look good on a large screen? Does it actually stream HD video?

How hard was setting up the interenet connection / stream..servers?

I am thinking about purchasing Wirecast… but that is a lot of software for 500 and I was wondering if it is real…

Did it crash…. on a laptop or Mac Pro

VeescopeLive will composite on your computer monitor what the final output would look like. I don’t think FCP will..

If you have a DVI to what you need encoder, you might be able to use Veescopelive.

The 3000 is DVCpro HD 1080 and the HVX200 is DVCpro HD 1080. I recorded 2 hours 1080p (422) with out dropout using FCP “capture Now” via Firewire (4pin-6pin) to MacBook Pro to 2 FW mirrored raid attached bus powered 2.5″ drives.. That is way more than my expectations last month. Firewire from camera was 15 feet long. I ordered a 30 footer from Granite to see if it will work “as advertised”

Does the 3000 have Fire wire output? The only hitch might be, I think the HVX200 is anamorphic, I do not know if the 3000 is also.

Yes, I have had Veescope for a couple weeks. Very cool. Runs on my new MacBook Pro like a champ.

They have a working demo. And it can use your Laptop camera for testing.

I have been waiting for somebody to replace the factory drive with a new a 160gig and tells us how they did it..

A couple more pay checks and a $500 ebay buy and I might do it….

I noticed a difference in audio quality, maybe tone, when using VeescopeLive to record 1080 over firewire to the MacBook Pro and when using Final Cut Pro’s ‘Capture Now” setting..

but didn’t give too much thought, yet… interesting

It all depends on what you are planning to do.

Over the weekend I plugged our new HVX200 via Firewire into our new MacBook Pro 2.4 recorded Chroma Key video to the 2 external buss powered FW 2.5″ drives (2 mirrored) Over 2 hours of 1080-24p HD using FCP Capture Now with out drop outs.

I then dumped the video to a FW800 Striped 2 disk raid and edited 4.5 minutes of 1080-24p on the lap top with out any crashes or serious hang-ups. I was just doing a sample chroma Key demo for a client meeting, so the chroma key edges where not super important. I had 4 layers of video in some places, it was all chroma key and it looked way to good when played back using ‘desktop preview’. No tape, everything location portable and it all would run on one large battery.

Way Cool……. but I am also upgrading my Dual gig FCP editor this spring.
