  • does macbook pro support dual monitor?

    Hi Creativecow friends,

I’m about to buy a macbook pro to replace my mirror door G4….which I’m pretty nervous and excited about …it just seems weird to be running my whole editing system off a laptop..but I know I can count on apple to come through for me… I’ll be alright just a little queezy feeling..making the big purchase…

but my big concern is whether I’ll be able to output to BOTH of my current kogi lcd monitors. does the macbookpro have the capability to output to TWO monitors.

    thoughts and comments? thanks.

Yes, but you need additional hardware to split the single DVI port you have. The Matrox Dualhead2Go might be your answer.

    Shane,

Was it your MXO article that stated that Matrox MXO and their Dual Head splitter was not playing nice with Leopard.. Did they finaly get new drivers?

I don’t think I mentioned the Dual Head in the article, but plenty here. It isn’t leopard that it has an issue with…I just haven’t gotten the Dual Head (or Triple head) to go to work with FCP and the MXO.

But the MXO wasn’t mentioned…so I threw out the DualHead option.
