Can somebody tell me why there’s a big audio quality – sound difference when recording to the FS100 in DVCProHD Quicktime and recording to P2 cards? Audio recorded on FS100 is more intimate compared to Audio recorded to P2 which is more removed i.e distant. For my taste the Quicktime sound is better but the problem is that difference in quality makes both sounds incompatible without a bunch of sound sweetening.
Recording with the HVX200 using same mic in same location and same voice.

    Interesting,

I noticed a difference in audio quality, maybe tone, when using VeescopeLive to record 1080 over firewire to the MacBook Pro and when using Final Cut Pro’s ‘Capture Now” setting..

but didn’t give too much thought, yet… interesting

Hey Ralph. how are you monitoring this and are you sure you are listening to discrete channels and not a stereo mix? Seems to me you might be combining channels and experiencing a slight phase cancellation? Both files should be 48k 16 bit audio.

Off course – I cannot recreate the problem today. So it must have been the monotoring of combined channels vs discrete channel. Thanks for the suggestion.
