Jeremy,
And I thought that nobody had a sense of humor here in the cow pasture…
So are the scars on the guys face (is it your face) from stapling and tearing out the staples that hold the eye patch in place????
I have a much softer cloth eye patch, that I used to use with my Sony M7. My Sony DXL35wsl has enough movement in the viewfinder attachment that I did not need the patch. And it is very funky to wear. Clients and talent tend to look at you oddly..
I am confidant that I could grind a solution out of metal bar stock. I would just rather pay somebody 50 bucks for the solution then spend a weekend in the basement workroom
OR as you have suggested – staple a metal eye patch to my head…. but maybe I could sell advertising space on the patch,,, make more money…. ;-0

Noah,
” also little green men that chant”Is the P2 secret being green or in the words of the chant??
A client, who is Buddhist, for whom I mastered their film to Betacam would chant as all 2.5 hours of her movie was rendering the latest color corrections and changes. So I am a believer in the chanting process, if I could just remember the words… ;-)… And if you know the little green men words they are chanting, we could sell the words to Ford and GM, etc to make their products as reliable as the P2…

” need an external broadcast monitor or TV”
Shane just what is an “external” broadcast monitor..
I am trying to upgrade to MacPro and keep my budget down… So I am looking at the JVC DT-V24l1U, which a lot of cowers love…. But if I plug it in DVI would I get the same “broadcast” results as if I plugged it in HD component??
Can I use it as both a computer monitor and Broadcast monitor to color correct etc. with just the DVI out (I will have another cheap monitor for the FCP basics) ..?
or do I need the HD component out card for the MacPro ala, Kona or BM..
I guess what I am asking is there any difference in the HD output from FCP using the DVI monitor card out versus a HD video card??

“moot point” that is my understanding.to… I was just told today that mine has shipped and I ordered it a good 3+ weeks ago… My dealer said they stopped deliveries for about a week so they could get the 5600 fix in the system. I know a couple dealers had stock of the HPX500’s that still needed the fix. Considering the 2K rebate, it is still a great deal and I wish I could grab 2 of them..

May 21, 2008 at 1:31 pm in reply to: FAQ is underway — Walter and I could use your helpAn Old Codec Repository, I remembered that (I thought ) there was a YUV Quicktime Codec that would allow old Cinewave quicktimes to be played on intel machines.. and Jeremy G had it handy… Not everybody upgrades with the the newest machines and gear with the herd. Like me, I am about 2+ years behind. So to have a quick reference location for these codecs and new gear (2+ years ago) workarounds would be great.

Bob,
Since you have the MXO, how do you like it? How do you use it in your workflow?
Do you have the Matrox Dual or Triple head adaptors also?
I am updating my edit suite to the new Mac pro,, and Have been debating the value of the MXO..
