Keep different Microphones on separate tracks. Also separate voices on separate tracks. The boom is the one with a more crisp sound.
Rename tracks to help sound designer.

You can put sound effects on same timeline, as long as they don’t overlap.

Have you set in and out points for each clip?
The normal way would be to create sub clips. These become “trimmed” clips with the in to out duration, and can be given a new name.
You cannot create sub clips from multiple clips, at the same time – but you could setup a keyboard shortcut to speed up the process…

I have put in a feature request for a new XML structure with more features kept intact. And Adobe did acquire the Automatic Duck team, so they do have the power to do this.

The relinking issue is the main reason that I lost all trust in FCPX, and submitted to Adobe.

The issue ruined a complete show for me, because FCPX suddenly would not recognise any media (just because it had been loaded into Premiere for a test). I tried to clean the meta-data, but FCPX was still a bitch – so eventually ended up relinking (MTS files) from the original SD card. Everything came back in to FCPX out of sync, and I had to go through every darn cut and move every single audio key frame manually.

That is what I call a TOY and not a TOOL.

Reinstall the CC desktop application and sign out, then log in again. You may be prompted to force sign out all other computers, which you should do.
