I’ve heard the same thing about the many hats thing, so it’s really starting to settle in now. And you are defiantly right about saving the company money vs getting a raise. Money flow is so strange in a corporation. Departments charge each other and I’ve even seen one group charge another rent for using their space! Crazy system – so I’ll try some of my other means for my proposed salary raise.

It’s actually not so much a raise as it is a completely new starting salary. At least I hope if goes that way because like you said, raises are usually percent based and even at 10%, I’m going to have to leave. Everyone gets yearly raises of about 1-5% (pending on company performance) but since my starting salary was so low, those raises have been miniscule.

I am very thankful for the skills I’ve learned, and I’ve actually been dedicating about 80% of all my outside time on my new portfolio/website. I’ll begin a new demo reel soon and I can jump back into the market and see what happens.

    Thanks Walter.

If you use a PC, then hold ALT and click the points.. this converts the points to bezier curves (smooth curves).

    1. Make a comp where you make the particles spin outwards
    2. Precompose the comp
    3. Make it play the precomposed comp backwards

= It looks like the particles spin inwards 😉

    Detect the problem:
    1. Change the camera angle in the preview box to top(there is a button somewhere in the bottom of the preview window). If you change the angle you’re able to see the “real” camera moving around.
    2. Zoom out or in if nessesary
    3. Play the preview
    4. You should be able to tell how to camera moves and (maybe) detect the problem

In a camera there is 2 very important properties:
    Position
    Focus point
(i’m not sure about the names)

    Possible problem/solution:
It looks like the camera’s position is moving while the focus point don’t move at all, this should be opposite.

Can’t you not just pickwip the pin you need to the expression box? I think that should work..

Why can’t you just parent the footage to the master layer? Do you have to copy/paste?
