    Hi there,

I’ve got to animate some liquid shapes in AE.
I use the pen tool and animate a path by transforming it over several keyframes. Unfortunately this doesn’t create a smooth movement.
The spatial interpolation can only be set on linear which might be the reason for this.

The individual anchor points just move straight from A to B and create kind of a bouncy feel.

Is there anyway around this? I can’t believe those points can’t be smoothed!

    Thanks for your help.

If you use a PC, then hold ALT and click the points.. this converts the points to bezier curves (smooth curves).

    No, that’s not the problem.
I’ve got nice round shapes all way through.
But the ANIMATION bumps from keyframe to keyframe.
I just uploaded a little video to demonstrate what I’m talking about.
Needs to be approved first though.

    Cheers

Well, it’s pretty much too late now as I made my way through thousands of keyframes. Anyway, I still can’t believe there’s no solution to this. I tried Flash, C4D, AE… they all do not interpolate anchor points. Sad world. Finally here’s a video to kinda visualize what I’ve been talking about:

    Cheers
