You can permanently change the drive letter in Windows.

    Right click on My Computer.
    Select MANAGE.
Expand STORAGE, and highlight DISK MANAGEMENT.
This brings up the COMPUTER MANAGEMENT WINDOW.
On right side of this window, highlight the drive letter you want to change.
Select ACTION > ALL TASKS > CHANGE DRIVE LETTER.
    Select CHANGE
And change to what you want.

  • [Chad Treanor] “do you need 2 gigs of ram to get full functionality out of hdv footage?”

My Sony VAIO (3.08Ghz) has 1Gb of RAM and works OK with HDV. However, I’m sure that if I had 2Gb, it would work even better.

If you got the Video Collection, look on the Encore CD in the folder Goodies\Getty Images Video Background\NTSC for free moving backgrounds.

  • My FX1 and PPro 1.5.1 have worked perfectly together, since day one, without any need to weak the software/hardware. And I have not installed the “$499 Cineform plugin”.

In the hundreds of scenes that I have captured, I have only had two scenes that were pixilated. All I had to do was recature those two scenes.

Yes the Cineform plugin will improve performance, but for now, I’m OK.

I also suspect it is your hardware.

You can “fill” the other channel, with the same sound. but that is not true stereo.

Why the need to have the sound in A1? (It really doesn’t matter which audio track that sound clip went to)

Sounds like you have a mono sound clip. And it will go to about A4. Does A4 have a mono symbol?

    Try using:

File > Export > Export to DVD

It will do everything for you.

I’m not really sure what the issue is. But any OHCI compliant firewire card should work. 400Mbps whould work (you do not need faster)

  • Steven, I’ve been given logo’s that were layered, with white, and it was a breeze to turn a layer off. But what if there are not layers in the logo?

While I am pretty good a fixing photos in photoshop, I’ll be the first to admit my skills at Photoshop are not advanced (haven’t had the time to learn or need). I’ve had a non-layered logos with a white boundary outside the logo, that I had to remove. I used the erasure tool to remove the white, leaving a transparent background.

Is there a better work flow for non layered?
