24 on 25 is achieved by duplicating a field every 12 frames. The problem is every other half of the second comes out interlaced. But that’s not the real question. The real question is Why PAL version?! Why not make a camera doing all frame-rates?
BTW, are we getting 720 50P at least?

I don’t think it is the issue of not enough CPU muscle. I think it is the huge decoding delay on the deck’s side that prevented FW preview.

I’m more curious about the “scrollball”. Will it work as a trackball in FCP 3-way Color Corrector?

Copy/Paste works from Browser to Timeline. Still L&C window should be more similar to the Viewer including F10, F9 and Marker shortcuts. Long overdue.

Black frames on DSR-1500/DSR-1500A is a well known issue. Disconnecting all FW disks does fix it. Clean mains power sometimes fixes it too.

The Film Editing Room Handbook by Norman Hollyn will give you a good perspective of what a feature editor expect from is assistant and the latest edition includes Avid workflow. Survival guide would probably a better name for this book.

Right, FCP XML in Quantel products support was announced quite a while ago so it is probably there by now. Could be a paid option though.

Avid published source code for DNxHD if I remember correctly. Could someone build a QT component using it?
