are you saying that i can lengthen my clip after the motion effect is applied? and create a new out point? that is what i want to do without having to re insert the clip into the timeline and start over.

for example, if i have a clip in the timeline that is 2 seconds long (with in and out points), and i apply timewarp and shorten the clip to 1 second long (now playing at 200% speed) then i can enter trim mode and change the length and that will lengthen the clip longer but not change speed??

that is wat i want to do.

i just noticed that this same thing is occuring on a clip that has a BCC levels adjustment. for some reason even if i render the filter it stills causes a stair stepping, but if i take it off and render the clip it looks sharp.

    waht is up?

for some reason i am pressing the . and , keys to move the playhead and it is not working. only the left and right arrow keys work, but they are only moving in fields, not frames.

my computer did it too after a friend added some drives for me. it was because of the drive bus not being fast enough for avid. i could capture dv 25 footage but not 1:1

i think you need to get a Mojo. then hook that to a deck and take a cord from the deck to the tv monitor.

all you do is lay clip 1 (without person in it) on the timeline.

then put clip two next in the timeline (with someone in it)

you can slip the edit so that your in point on the second clip contains the person already in scene.

    or

you can use a cross dissolve from clip 1 to 2. this will mamke the person slowly appear in the shot.

it is very easy to do.

noone will know that you actually cut to the next shot because the backgrounds are completeley the same.

  • i am re reading the book and i am reading it a whole lot slower now and actually pondering on everything he says.

now i am starting to understand his concepts better. Just takes a while to figure out what his run on sentences mean.

one sentence in particular i am having a hard time understanding, because after he writes it, he moves onto something else.

it says, “an effective cut can be made (usually)just before the last eye of the character is no longer visible.”

i dont have the book in front of me but that is the jist of it.

i am stumbling over the last part of the phrase “just before the last eye is no longer visible.

this doesnt make sense to me. does he mean cut righ after the last eye clears the frame, or cut before that eye even touches the side of the frame?
