I’m guessing you are capturing via a TV card or razzle/dazzle breakout box in the Mpeg format…not suitable for editing in CS3…either convert the video to DV type 2 or use Premiere Elements.

The Mpeg decoder/encoder is not included in the trial version. Most Mp3 will import in the full version, but not 64 kbps mono.

Right click on the drive in “my computer” and choose Properties. File system must be NTSF and not Fat 32. Convert if necessary…Search Windows Help for “Convert NTSF”.

My first guess would be CPU overheating. Open the case and inspect for non working or clogged fans…clean with compressed air. Leave the case open and try again.

24 is an invalid value. Try 7 mbps. who iis authoring on what app…are they recompressing the video?

Suggest you not use the video capabilities of your D90 for anything mission critical, like your daughter’s wedding or God forbid a customer. The video from good still cameras is highly compressed to about 1.5 mbps compared to consumer camcorders at 15 to 25 mbps. Editing and recompressing video from any still camera will produce quality much lower than most any consumer camcorder. You can buy a Mini DV camcorder for about $250.

I have had an intermittent issue where an audio track wont play. Moving the audio to an different track solved it for me.

How long is your movie?
Did you do the encoding in CS3 or Encore or Nero? What bitrate? Did you author it in Encore? Does it play smoothly in Encore? -

Yes! Open the wing menu at the upper right corner of the timeline and choose “Show Audio time units”.
